Pit Thoughts: Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival Delivers Again

When the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival announced it’s inaugural event in 2019 it was huge. A lineup that included Foo Fighters, System of a Down, Disturbed, Halestorm, Bring Me The Horizon, Ghost, Lamb of God and so many more amazing acts. It seemed it would be hard to top that for 2020. But, Danny Wimmer Presents did exactly that delivering something no one has pulled off on the festival scene yet. Metallica would be performing at five Danny Wimmer Presents festivals in 2020 including Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock. Metallica will be the headliner at Sonic Temple for both Friday and Sunday evenings. So how does Danny Wimmer Presents finish out the headliner? By knocking it out of the park with Slipknot as the Saturday headliner. Could it get any better than this?

Absolutely! Sonic Temple once again secured an amazing line of artists to perform including Deftones, Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Staind, Sublime With Rome, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, and Pennywise. On top of that let me throw out some of my personal favorites performing that weekend including Alter Bridge (hot off their Walk The Sky album and tour), English rock duo Royal Blood, and thrash metal masters Anthrax, and another thrash metal master Testament (who are releasing their new album Titans of Creation on April 3rd). The full music lineup (subject to change) includes:

Metallica, Slipknot, Deftones, Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Staind, Sublime With Rome, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Pennywise, Royal Blood, The Pretty Reckless, Alter Bridge, Anthrax, Flatbush Zombies, Pop Evil, Hellyeah, Ghostemane, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament, Dance Gavin Dance, Ice Nine Kills, Sleeping With Sirens, The Darkness, The Hu, Knocked Loose, Code Orange, Power Trip, Saint Asonia, Dirty Honey, Jinjer, City Morgue, Bones UK, Airbourne, Fire From The Gods, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Des Rocs, Counterfeit., Crobot, Cherry Bombs, DED, Goodbye June, Brutus, 3Teeth, Brkn Love, Killstation, Brass Against, Crown Lands, Ego Kill Talent, Dregg, Bloodywood, Zero 9:36 and more.

Now what makes Sonic Temple stand out to the other festivals is this just isn’t about the music. This is also an art festival! There is a mix of illustrator and performance artists that will appear at the festival. The current lineup includes Nychos, Butch Locsin, Michael Reeder, Jason Naylor, Palehorse, Angryblue, Garageland, Urban Aztec, Brian Ewing, Paul Rentler, Omnigraphicon, Mad Pixel, Joe King and Taylor Springle, with more to be announced.
