Festivals are always the highlight of the music scene over the summer and fall. Thousands of people flocking to a massive location to see their favorite artists in an outdoor setting and listening to thundering music over multiple days. But, when a new festival pops onto the scene, all eyes turn to see what they have to offer. And the EXIT 111 Festival hype and offering is huge.
Just under a month away, C3 Presents and AC Entertainment put together this festival debut to be hosted at the Great Stage Park in Manchester, TN from October 11-13, 2019. The site is primarily known as the location of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. But, on October 11-13, this 700-acre farm will become home to metal, rock, southern rock, and alternative music.
The Musical Artists
The festival will host three stages for music: Heaven, Hell, and Rise Above. Below is a listing of the artists for each day.
Friday, October 11:Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer, Seether, Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Black Label Society, Black Stone Cherry, The Cadillac Three, 10 Years, Bishop Gunn, Kyle Shutt (of The Sword), Watermox
Saturday, October 12:Def Leppard, ZZ Top, Ghost, Mastodon, Gojira, Cheap Trick, Blackberry Smoke, Nothing More, Sleeping With Sirens, Whitechapel, Power Trip, Fever 333, Graveyard, New Years Day, Alien Weaponry, Dead Sara, Them Evils, Astronoid
Sunday, October 13:Guns N’ Roses, Deftones, Coheed and Cambria, Lamb of God, Alter Bridge, Ministry, Skillet, Of Mice & Men, Thrice, From Ashes To New, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, Plague Vendor, Dirty Honey, Tetrarch, O’Brother
Friday’s lineup is amazing strong with headliners Lyndyrd Skynyrd closing out the show. The iconic southern rockers who dominated the 1970s and still rocks out sell out shows is sure to give the fans a show to remember. Slayer, now on The Final Campaign Tour, will be performing for the last time in Tennesse that night. The iconic metalers will absolutely deliver an outstanding performance that will have the entire festival crowd moshing, jumping, and screaming for more. And with fellow metal acts of Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, and Black Label Society Friday evening will be amazing. I love the addition of Seether where the EXIT 111 Festival promoters have teamed with frontman Shaun Morgan‘s Rise Above charity. Beyond having one of the festival stages named as the Rise Above Stage, EXIT 111 will donate $1.00 from every ticket sold to Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE). These efforts will assist in raising funds for the charity’s life-saving suicide awareness efforts which started at Rise Above Festival. One of my personal favorite bands, 10 Years, is also on the Friday lineup who always delivers amazing performances.
Saturday’s lineup has a great lineup as well! Headling the night are the legendary rockers Def Leppard. With amazing albums Pryomania, Hysteria, and Adrenalize, the band has been going strong from the 1980s into the current day. They are certain to have everyone singing along to their music. ZZ Top is sure to have the crowd rocking with their blend of rock. Entertaining fans since the 1970s the band released phenomenal rock music over their career, including albums Eliminator, Afterburner, and Recycler. Once again a band that will have the fans singing along. Swedish rock band Ghost has been gathering the masses since their single “Cirice” won a Grammy in 2016. Their music and stage presence is very memorable and they’re still touring on their most recent album Prequelle. Throw in the metal powerhouses of Mastodon and Gojira, the iconic rockers Cheap Trick, and the amazing rockers Nothing More and you already have a great lineup. But, don’t miss on seeing Whitechapel who’s metal will get the mosh pits moving, the ever amazing Fever 333 with their intense stage performance, and New Years Day who always provides great performance. My personal do not miss is Them Evils who has their own unique rock style and are truly a band making waves on the rock scene.
And is Sunday’s lineup going to throttle back and take it easy? Oh hell no! Headling that night is Guns N’ Roses! The rock icons are back touring again and are sure to blow fans away with some of their memorable singles “Welcome To The Jungle”, “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, “November Rain”, and “Paradise City”. Additionally, Deftones will be there to rock out the crowd. Prog rock Coheed and Cambria will be there to share The Armory Wars story through their music. And fans be prepared to get moving when Lamb of God hits the stage. Their music consistently brings sell out crowds and has some of the largest mosh pits you’ll ever experience. I’m thrilled to see Alter Bridge added to the mix who will be supporting their upcoming album Walk The Sky. I’m sure they’ll play some of the new tracks during their performance. Added in Ministry, Of Mice & Men, Skillet, and Thrice and it’s a rock/metal haven. My personal pick from Sunday is From Ashes To New who are an amazingly talented band that draws crowds and works hard to entertain on stage.
