BRICK, NJ | April 2, 2019 – The Ones You Forgot, a pop rock band from Brick, NJ consisting of Jenna Bruno (vocals), Ferdinand Benauro (guitar), Matt Thompson (guitar), Justin Rodman (drums), and Lance Nelson (bass), are excited to announce their addition to the NJ Vans Warped Tour dates June 29 and June 30 in New Jersey.

The announcement follows the release of their sophomore EP, Too Afraid To Say, today. Produced and mixed by Rob Freeman (Armor For Sleep, Hit The Lights) at Audio Pilot Studios and mastered by Rogue Planet Mastering, the EP tells a story of the elements that we are all afraid of, but too reluctant to vocalize to a loved one, a friend, or even yourself. Vocalist Jenna Bruno shares, “We want our listeners to know that feeling scared or vulnerable is okay, and everyone has their own unique way of overcoming it when the time is right.” Stream the EP via PureGrainAudio here!

Off the EP, comes the band’s brand new single, “One Step Ahead,” which exclusively premiered with Idobi Radio. “One Step Ahead” is about coming to the realization that a person in your life is toxic. Bruno expanded, “Unfortunately, letting go of said person is often a battle, because it is usually someone you care deeply about, even if they continue to hurt you. I like to think of this song as an anthem for sticking up for yourself, and learning that sometimes it’s just better to let people go, even if it’s tough.” Fans can stream “One Step Ahead” here!

Continually, the band already unveiled a music video (originally premiered on Alt Press) for single, “Here Forever,” though one of the catchiest songs on the EP, it is also one of the darkest. “Here Forever” encompasses the notion that you can never be ready for the death of a loved one. Bruno continues,
“The song is all about the fear of losing someone forever, and being worried that you didn’t have enough time to spend with them. The verses of the song are presented as if the person you are afraid to lose is sick or suffering in some way. I wrote this part hypothetically, because I was not going through it myself at that time. However, not long after this song was recorded, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. It was like the song came to life, and it took on a whole new meaning to me. Fortunately, my mom is doing amazing and is almost finished with her treatment. Either way, though everyone handles these types of situations differently, I know this song represents something that everyone may face at some point in life.”

More information on The Ones You Forgot:

The Ones You Forgot is a pop rock band from Brick, NJ that was formed in 2014 after long-time friends and guitarists Ferdinand Benauro and Matt Thompson noticed remarkable covers on Instagram from vocalist Jenna Bruno. When the three had the chance to play together, they realized they were in the perfect spot to start a band and rounded out the group with the addition of Justin Rodman on drums and Lance Nelson on bass. The Ones Your Forgot kicked off their debut release the following year with Peaks & Valleys; however, it wasn’t until their “Make It Out Alive” single release in late 2016 that solidified their sound and structure. Drawing inspiration from acts including Paramore, State Champs, and All Time Low, the band combined their backgrounds to cultivate the diversity heard through their music.

Taking some time to perfect their sound, the band spent the following year writing new music and playing shows, opening for artists such as Emarosa, Boys Like Girls, Four Year Strong, Never Shout Never, and Seaway, among others. Now the band has returned with a brand new EP, Too Afraid To Say, set for release on June 29, 2018. Vocalist Jenna Bruno shares, “We want our listeners to know that feeling scared or vulnerable is okay, and everyone has their own unique way of overcoming it when the time is right.”
