November 27, 2018 — Alt-rock duo, The Blue Stones, debuted their highly anticipated music video today for their current hit single, “Black Holes (Solid Ground),” today exclusively via Billboard Magazine. Directed by Jason Lester and filmed in Los Angeles, CA, this is the first music video the band has released from their new LP.

“When the band told me about how their great track was an exploration of the battles we fight within ourselves, my mind went instantly to Stanley Milgram’s infamous shock experiments of the early 1960s,” says director Jason Lester. “Using the setup of his obedience tests as a jumping off point, we constructed a visual representation of the struggle with the self – a person facing their own image in a mirror, pushed to the brink by a choice that must be made.”

“Black Holes (Solid Ground)” is currently sitting at 34 on the Alternative Chart and 25 on the Mainstream Rock Chart, a feat not many artists get to claim and even fewer claim on an independent record label.
“It’s amazing how quickly everything is happening for us right now,” says the band.“Charting at both Alternative and Mainstream rock radio formats, doing a European tour alongside Welshy Arms with several sold-out dates, playing a bunch of summer festivals, and now releasing the video for our debut single – it’s a lot to take in, but we’re super grateful”
The Blue Stones recently returned home from a mostly sold out tour of Europe with Welshly Arms.  The band has also confirmed their appearance at the 2019 Shaky Knees festival taking place May 3-5 in Atlanta, GA. Other notable acts include Tame Impala, Gary Clark, Jr., Interpol, Beck, Incubus, Tash Sultana, Grouplove, Cage The Elephant and many others. A return to the U.S. is planned for December with select dates alongside The Struts and Meg Myers.

Prior to its release, The Blue Stones released three tracks off Black Holes“Be My Fire” was the most recently released track with “Black Holes (Solid Ground)” and“Rolling With the Punches” before that. “Be My Fire” was also featured in the season finale of TNT’s the Animal Kingdom this past summer.

The Blue Stones have seen massive success in the new music business’ streaming model. Prestigious Spotify playlists like Rock This, Totally Alt, New Noise, Dirty Rock and more have all featured the band’s hit single, “Black Holes (Solid Ground).”

Fans will recognize “Rolling With The Punches” and “Black Holes (Solid Ground)” as they have received several placements in the USA Network’s hit show Suits, Showtime’s comedy series Shameless and ESPN’s Monday Night Football. “Black Holes (Solid Ground)” which is the official lead single has amassed over 10 Million Worldwide Streams, an impressive feat by an unsigned band.

The Blue Stones were hard at work earlier this year playing live at some of the country’s top concert destinations. The band was front and center at this year’s Carolina Rebellion festival with MUSE and Queens of the Stone Age. The Blue Stones then went onto giving highlighted performances at InCuya Festival, Northern Invasion, Winnetka Music Festival, and the highly coveted Bonnaroo Festival. The band also participated on Gallagher Way outside of Wrigley Field before Pearl Jam’s performance this summer.

Listening to the larger-than-life, but tight and precise blues-rock of The Blue Stones on their eOne debut, Black Holes, it is astonishing to discover all that sound and fury is created by just two people. Guitarist/vocalist/lyricist Tarek Jafar and percussionist/backing vocalist Justin Tessier have known each other since meeting as kids. But it wasn’t until attending university together that they decided to combine their talents into a musical project.

“The album’s about being a young adult and entering the real world from a sheltered environment, like college,” explains Jafar. “Feeling torn between taking the secure path or doing something that might be riskier, but you’re passionate about… following what you love as opposed to sticking to the straight and narrow.”

“We play blues-rock, though it’s not loose and dirty,” explains Tessier. “It’s lean, raw, tight, without a wasted note.” With the release of Black Holes, The Blue Stones are ready to raise the stakes and turn up the heat.
